‘Nothing Phone (3) is coming: finally a real flagship’

We can also expect new smartphones from Nothing in 2025. This year the company would (finally) present a real flagship.

‘Nothing Phone (3) will be a real flagship’

The relatively young smartphone brand Nothing has now released several devices, but until now the company has mainly focused on midrange phones. This will change in 2025, according to a leaked email from telecom insider EvLeaks shares. In the email, which is said to come from Nothing CEO Carl Pei, the CEO talks about the coming year.

According to Pei, a ‘historic smartphone launch’ is planned for the first quarter of 2025. This most likely concerns the Nothing Phone (3). Interestingly, Pei is talking about a flagship, which indicates that the Phone (3) will be a true high-end smartphone. This in turn means that it has the best specifications.

Not much else is known about the Nothing Phone (3). However, the leaked email clearly hints at AI. It is not yet clear when exactly Nothing will launch the smartphone. The company may show the Phone (3) during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, which starts on March 3 this year.

Previous Nothing smartphones

Nothing’s most recent smartphone is the Phone (2a) Plus. This phone is similar to the Phone (2a) in many ways, but has a number of minor improvements. The Plus is faster, takes slightly better photos and has fast charging capabilities. Furthermore, the differences between the Phone (2a) and Phone (2a) Plus are very small.

→ Nothing Phone (2a) Plus review: hardly better, but more expensive

The Nothing Phone (2a) Plus is a tiny upgrade compared to the Phone (2a). The smartphone is slightly faster, takes slightly better photos and charges slightly faster than its brother. And then you’re pretty much there: otherwise the device is identical to its predecessor.

We therefore wonder why Nothing sells both the Phone (2a) and Phone (2a) Plus, because most users will notice little to none of the differences. Moreover, the ‘normal’ 2a is currently considerably cheaper and therefore the better choice. That does not mean that the Phone (2a) Plus is a bad phone, but one with little reason to exist.
