By now everyone has heard of the id.gov.br app and many use it on a daily basis. This is the app that allows you to have your citizen card, driver’s license, among other documents, on your cell phone. Recently this app started to allow you to have a Car Insurance certificate.
ID.gov is free and can replace original cards...
The Public Administration's ID.gov application is used by more than 3 million users. The available documents already have the same legal value as physical documents and recently it has also become possible to have a Car Insurance certificate.
Automobile Civil Liability Insurance aims to protect injured parties, ensuring that their damages are compensated, regardless of the financial conditions of the person responsible for the accident. In this sense, all citizens who sign up for car insurance will now be able to upload the document to the application. However, anyone using a company car, for example, will not be able to add the document (for now).
This novelty comes within the scope of the Simplex program, and comes to allow the document proving Car Insurance to have greater portability, facilitating consultation and access to the document, with the possibility of being shared if necessary.
With the integration of the Car Insurance proof document, the digital wallet currently provides 18 documents, namely civil, automobile, health, professional and military identification documents.
Access to the ID.gov application is carried out using a Digital Mobile Key, guaranteeing a high level of security in its use. The id.gov.pt application is available for Android e iOS.
