It’s been 20 years since the second Half-Life hit our screens. To celebrate this milestone, Nvidia teamed up with Valve and presented a special edition of the game and a unique graphics card.
Half-Life 2 RTX is a special edition of the game from Orbifold Studios, which was created specifically for this project. This is a team of modders who originally worked individually on various other projects related to Half-Life. With help Nvidia then they remade the second part of this popular game to support full ray-tracing and implemented PBR in it, which will reshape texture materials to reflect light realistically. There is also DLSS 3.5 or Nvidia Reflex. The RTX version will be released as free DLC.
But Nvidia’s love for Half-Life 2 doesn’t end there. The company also produced a special edition GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, which turns the classic boring Founders Edition into a very nice celebration, especially of the main character of the game, Gordon Freeman. And you can have this card at home too – it’s being contested on Nvidia’s profile on X.
