Nvidia surpassed Apple and became, for a few minutes, the most valuable company in the world, with a market capitalization of 3.53 trillion dollars, writes Ziarul Financiar, citing Reuters.
In June, Nvidia was briefly the most valuable company, before being overtaken by Microsoft and Apple. The market capitalizations of the three companies have been close in recent months.
Shares of Nvidia surged 18% in October thanks to the success of Nvidia-backed company OpenAI in raising $6.6 billion in funding. At the same time, Nvidia produces graphics processors used to train artificial intelligence models.
The next test for the graphics chip maker will be in November, when the financial results for the third quarter of this year will be announced.
