- Nvidia showed the new generation of RTX 50 powered by Blackwell architecture
- DLSS 4 promises up to an 8-fold increase in frame rate
- The RTX 5070 is supposed to offer the performance of the current RTX 4090 at a third of the price
At CES 2025, Nvidia finally pulled an ace up its sleeve in the form of a new generation of graphics cards GeForce RTX 50 series. Four new models built on architecture Blackwell is supposed to bring not only a jump in game performance, but above all a revolution in the field of AI functions. The flagship RTX 5090 received a record 92 billion transistors, and the manufacturer promises up to twice the performance of its predecessor.
New flagship with GDDR7
GeForce RTX 5090 she is the new performance queen, and she deserves it for several reasons. She got the card 32 GB of GDDR7 memorywhich will offer a throughput of up to 1,792 GB/s on a wide 512-bit bus. The number of CUDA cores increased to 21,760 supplemented by 680 Tensor cores of the 5th generation and 170 RT cores of the 4th generation. The base clock of the chip is set to 2.01 GHz with the possibility of automatic overclocking up to 2.4 GHz. The card should handle it without any problems gaming in 8K resolution, even with activated ray tracing.

To cool such performance, Nvidia developed an all-new dual-slot design with dual airflow and liquid metal as thermal paste. The reference model has a length of 304 mm and a height of 137 mm. Consumption is set to 575 W, therefore the manufacturer recommends at least a 1000 W source. All this is reflected in the price, which in the Czech Republic starts at 59,599 CZK.
RTX 4090 performance for RTX 4070 price?
It will offer half the equipment RTX 5080which received 16 GB of GDDR7 on a 256-bit bus (throughput of 960 GB/s) and 10,752 CUDA cores. On the Czech market, it starts at 29,999 CZK. Model RTX 5070 Ti it shares the same memory configuration but has 8,960 CUDA cores. It will be with us from 22,399 CZK.
However, the most interesting is the basic one RTX 5070 for 16,449 CZK. With 12GB of GDDR7 and 6,144 CUDA cores, according to Nvidia, in games with DLSS support it should 4 achieve the performance of the current RTX 4090, which still costs around 40 thousand. This ambitious claim is mainly due to the new AI functions.
DLSS 4 a Neural Shaders
The key innovation is DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generationwhich can generate up to three additional frames between each rendered one. In combination with other DLSS technologies, this should bring up to an 8-fold increase in frame rate compared to native rendering. Nvidia first deployed the so-called transformers, the same AI technology used by ChatGPT.

Also brand new are RTX Neural Shaders, which use small neural networks directly in the programmable shaders for cinematic quality shading and lighting. The technology can compress textures up to 7 times while maintaining quality. New version Reflex 2 then thanks to the Frame Warp function, it promises to reduce latency by up to 75%.
Notebooky s RTX 50
Laptops with mobile versions of RTX 50 chips will also arrive in March. Nvidia promises up to 40% prolongation of endurance thanks to new Max-Q technologies such as Advanced Power Gating or Low Latency Sleep. Notebooks with RTX 5090 will start at 2,899 dollars (approx. 70,000 CZK without VAT), models with RTX 5080 at 2,199 dollars (approx. 53,000 CZK without VAT). Basic versions with RTX 5070 Ti will cost from 1,599 dollars (approx. 38,000 CZK without VAT) and the most affordable configurations with RTX 5070 will start at 1,299 dollars (approx. 31,000 CZK without VAT). However, the final Czech prices may differ significantly.
When will we wait?
The first swallows in the form of RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 will arrive in stores already January 30th. The RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 will follow in February. In addition to the reference Founders Edition models, we can look forward to custom versions from manufacturers such as ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte and others. We will find out in a few weeks whether Nvidia is exaggerating with the RTX 5070 performance claims and how the cards perform in practice.
