Over-ear headphones
With the ONE, the Japanese manufacturer nwm is introducing on-ear headphones that, for the first time, combine an open design with a noise-cancelling system for the outside world.
NTT Sonority, a division of Japanese telecommunications company NTT, develops audio products with a focus on open listening and minimal sound interference. The manufacturer brings various headphone models onto the market under the brand nwm (pronounced “Noom”).
The nwm ONE headphones work with one open over-ear designdesigned to enable music fans to be aware of their surroundings while listening to music. A combination of a 12 mm driver for medium and high frequencies and a 35 mm driver for low frequencies is used. The open design ensures ventilation and allows outside noise to pass through. Light padding should ensure a comfortable fit without any feeling of pressure.
Design and comfort
The minimalist design of the nwm ONE combines functionality with aesthetics. With a Weight of about 185 grams The headphones should hardly be noticeable even when worn for a long time.
Technology and sound quality
The nwm ONE is equipped with so-called “Personalized Sound Zone” (PSZ) technology, which is intended to focus the sound on the user’s ears while minimizing sound loss. In addition, “Magic Focus Voice” technology is used, a combination of beamforming and spectral filtering for clear voice transmission during calls. Connectivity and battery life

The nwm ONE headphones are available in the US and Japan for the equivalent of $300. It is currently not officially available in Germany.
