Domestic. The so-called Nytorg man, who was previously convicted of several serious sexual crimes, has been arrested again, now suspected of a new assault in Hörby.
The arrest took place on the night of Wednesday, according to information to Sydsvenskan.
The Nytorg man, who was sentenced to five years in prison as recently as February 2022 for, among other things, rape and sexual assault, was released on parole earlier this year despite assessments of a high risk of recidivism.
SVT has also spoken to one of the man’s former victims, who expresses his concern and lack of surprise at the incident.
– I knew this would happen. He is a hopeless case, she says.
SVT reporter Jimmy Kirvesmäki, who produced a documentary about the man, also comments on the news:
– It was clear from the Correctional Service that they believed that the risk of recidivism was high when he was released.
