O2 improves eSIM. You can also get it for free

From November 5, 2024 the blue operator brings an improved service e.g. New customers can activate their electronic SIM card almost instantly via the O2 mobile app. Convenient and free of charge.

“Just as today a person can comfortably open a bank account online, he can also buy our flat rate from the comfort of his home. We’re delighted to be introducing eSIM today, which will enhance the experience in the digital world of O2, after making the purchase and activation of a plan available in the mobile app in April.”

explained Stanislava Jancurová, Product Owner for Digital Innovations at O2.

Free eSIM can be used by customers who purchase their new flat rate through the O2 application. In the next few months, however, O2 will make the option of exchanging a plastic SIM card for an eSIM available to existing customers as well.

After installing the application, the customer fills in contact information and selects O2 Paušál. He then selects eSIM. After verifying the e-mail address, the application prompts him to enter his ID card number, takes a picture of his face, and the software compares with ID. Later, he chooses the payment method and continues to the contract signing section, where he finds all mandatory and optional documents, including the future contract.
