DAPURPACUID – PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) presents the Chery J6 Batik to visitors to the 2024 Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) exhibition, ICE BSD City, Tangerang.
This model is the result of a collaboration with automotive custom painter (Artisanart) from Indonesia, Muhamad Syamsul Fahmi, which makes this offroad EV SUV appear even more elegant.
The uniqueness of the Chery J6 Batik is that it is a moving work of art that combines the beauty of traditional batik with the latest technology of an electric SUV.
In appearance, this car is based on black as the basic ‘canvas’ for painting batik and has been coated with Paint Protection Film (PPF). Then several parts of the body are covered with batik motifs painted manually by Fahmi.
Head of Brand Department PT Chery Sales Indonesia, Rifkie Setiawan, said that batik art and the Chery J6 have similarities in terms of aesthetic value and quality.
According to Rifkie, batik is a timeless cultural heritage. Likewise, the Chery J6 design combines fashion & trendy, which makes its appearance look eye catching.
“Both are the perfect blend of tradition and innovation. “We want to show that local products such as batik can compete with the Chery J6, which is produced locally or CKD,” he explained.
“This collaboration is a form of our appreciation for Indonesia’s cultural heritage, as well as introducing its beauty to the world. “We also want to invite people to love domestic products more,” he said.
In the manufacturing process, Chery J6 Batik involves manual painting techniques that require high precision and patience, which makes it a unique and exclusive work of art.
The main attraction of this electric SUV with the ‘Fashion Cube Box’ design and there is only one in Indonesia, was done entirely manually by Fahmi’s hand.
This batik motif itself is inspired by porcelain or ceramics from China from the 18-19 century. The images of trees, flowers and dragons that dominate this motif have deep meaning.
Dragons, for example, symbolize strength, nobility, luck and prosperity. It is hoped that the vibrations from this painting motif can provide positive energy to the vehicle.
Interestingly, the batik edition of the Chery J6 will be auctioned specifically at the end of the GJAW 2024 exhibition. The participants will be consumers who have ordered the Chery J6.
Through this collaboration with Fahmi, Chery Indonesia also wants to invite future J6 owners to be braver in expressing themselves and their creativity.
For information, the Chery J6 is equipped with various premium features such as massage chairs, ventilated seats, 12 Infinity Speaker by Harman audio system, combined with a 15 inch touch screen head unit.
In terms of comfort, there is also a Large Panoramic Sunroof to enjoy the open sky and blue sky atmosphere which makes the cabin feel more natural.
Includes 14 ADAS features which provide a feeling of comfort and security. Meanwhile, 8+X driving modes and 19 inch alloy wheels make this off-road capable electric SUV ready to face various road terrains.
