Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1951 to an Argentinian father and an English mother, he moved to England and began his acting career in earnest. The representative work is the film ‘Romeo and Juliet’, adapted from Shakespeare’s tragedy and directed by Franco Zeffirelli in 1968. At the time, he was only 15 years old. For this work, he won the Golden Globe Award for Best New Artist in 1969. Afterwards, he appeared in ‘Black Christmas’, which is considered a classic horror film, as well as ‘Death on the Nile’, ‘Ivanhoe’, and ‘Mother Teresa’.
