Olympic Games, sabotage of TGV lines, supersonic aircraft, CEO of Atos… The five images of the week

1 – Paris Olympics, let’s go!

At 11:24 pm on Friday 26 July, the last torchbearers Marie-José Pérec and Teddy Riner lit the Olympic flame cauldron in the middle of the large pond in the Tuileries Gardens in the heart of the capital. The final chapter of a grandiose opening ceremony organised around the Seine. EDF participated in the design of this balloon-cauldron that will light up the Parisian sky without fuel: it is in fact a circular curtain of water mist lit by thousands of LEDs. An electric “flame” that will fly 60 metres above the ground every evening from sunset to 2 am.
