The series will tell about the life and achievements of the famous Russian physicist Alexander Stepanovich Popov. An impact project from the Inspirers Production Center about the great Russian inventor Alexander Popov is timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of regular radio broadcasting in Russia. Spectators managed to highly appreciate the implementation of the project at the All-Russian festival “Bear Cub”, where the pilot episode of the project was presented.
The all-Russian offline premiere of the series took place on October 3 at the LAMPA International Impact Film Festival in the inventor’s homeland, Perm. The impact project was presented by the general producer of the Inspiration Center Olesya Ovchinnikova in the program of screenings “Good Animation to the Heart!” The first small viewers learned interesting facts from the life of Alexander Popov, were inspired to great achievements and told the creators what worries them now and what content they would like to see on the screens.
Episodes of the project, performed in a fascinating popular science form, will allow viewers to plunge into the world of science and discoveries, as well as trace Popov’s influence on the modern technological and cultural development of society. “On the Wave of Popov” will be a unique animated series for Russia, which, through the life story of the great Russian scientist Alexander Popov, will enter into an emotional dialogue with young viewers and talk about the positive experience of going through difficult life situations, self-determination and creative self-expression. Each animated episode of “On the Wave of Popov” is accompanied by a soundtrack specially written for the project.
Co-founder of the Inspirers Production Center, partner, general and creative producer Alya Bereslavtseva talks about the form of the series: “Today, animation, along with feature cinema, is a field for creative experiments that are interesting to young people. To ensure a high artistic level of the series, which is important for the target audience, both 2D graphics and character animation will be used.”. Managing Partner, General Producer and Co-Founder of the Producer Center, as well as Inspirer Olesya Ovchinnikova clarifies: “The means of author’s animation were not chosen by chance. According to research, 70% of Russian teenagers and young people under 25 regularly watch cartoons.” The project is being implemented in the direction of impact content, which will certainly evoke an emotional response among viewers, inspire, open new horizons and popularize science and technology among young people. In this regard, animation becomes not only an entertaining genre, but also points out social problems and poses complex questions, and also helps solve them».
