Once again, a mouse mothership was launched in Razer’s dry dock

Of course, it is the current version of the Basilisk, which can be added to the basket with or without string.

Under the main clicks of the 130 mm long, 75.4 mm wide and 42.5 mm high, 11-button rodent, one piece of the manufacturer’s third-generation optomechanical switches was placed, which, according to the brochure, can withstand “90 million” clicks. In terms of the device’s physics, we can only comment on one thing, and that is its weight of 112 grams, reminiscent of a half-brick – nowadays we would expect more (or rather less) than that.

The solution, equipped with five-profile on-board memory and decorated with 13-zone Chroma RGB lighting, has retained its strictly right-handed form, and its tiltable roller can operate in several modes. The first is the traditional, tactile setting that does not require word-cutting, while the second is the free-running position, but there is also a customizable, so-called “Smart-reel Mode”, which automatically switches between the former two settings depending on the speed of the scrolling. It is worth mentioning that in the Synapse 4 software we can activate the virtual acceleration of the scroll wheel, which increases the sensitivity of the wheel in direct proportion to the speed of our scrolling.

Communication with the target machine can be achieved with a 2.4 GHz HyperSpeed radio capable of 8000 Hz polling rate, Bluetooth or USB Type-C/Type-A paracord, although the 8K receiver must be purchased separately. The built-in battery has sufficient reserves for approximately 28-210 hours, depending on the type of connection and the USB sampling frequency, and the device is compatible with the Razer Mouse Dock Pro with Razer Wireless Charging Puck, but also supports other cable-free charging. On the abdomen, virgin grade PTFE pads, supplemented with a sensor ring that reduces cpi-deviation, are stationed in the compartment that allows the accommodation of the two-device dongle, in addition to the profile changer and the mode changer latch switch.
