A serious traffic accident with one dead and four injured occurred on Saturday night at the junction of Lagada and Egnatia, in the center of Thessaloniki.
Four EKAV ambulances rushed to the scene to transport the injured to an on-call hospital, as well as the Fire Brigade, who attempted to extricate people.

How did the car accident happen?
As reported by thesstoday.gr, according to eyewitnesses, a car driving on 26th of October Street was illegally directed, with a red light, upwards to enter Lagada Street.
At that moment, it collided with another vehicle moving on Egnatia, in which five people were on board, including children. According to information, this is a family.
The 55-year-old driver of the second vehicle died in the severe collision.

The body of the unfortunate driver was taken to “Agios Dimitrios” hospital. The injured, including the driver of the other car, were taken to “Papanikolau” hospital and a minor child to “Gennimatas”.
A preliminary investigation into the incident is being carried out by police officers of the Thessaloniki Traffic Directorate.
