One in four Americans fear civil war after the election

Foreign. According to a recent survey by Yougov, 27 percent of Americans fear that a civil war could break out after the upcoming presidential election in the United States. It reports Daily Mail.

The survey, which was conducted between October 18 and 21 with 1,266 respondents, shows that 6 percent believe that a civil war is “very likely” and 21 percent that it is “somewhat likely.”

Both supporters of Donald Trump and Kamala Harris express similar concerns.

The survey also reveals that 12 percent of respondents know someone who they think might take up arms if Trump loses the election in a way they believe is unfair, while 5 percent know someone who might do the same to Harris.

The survey shows deep-rooted political divisions in the United States – 84 percent of voters believe that the country is more divided than ten years ago.
