It was just millimeters away from Donald Trump’s head exploding live in the act on July 13. Instead, the bullet superficially hit Trump’s ear.
In the US, there are many on the left who have not hidden their disappointment that the presidential candidate survived.
That attitude is also visible in public opinion. According to a measurement carried out by Unheralded shows that a third of Democratic voters in a July 18 snap poll openly agreed with the statement: “I wish Trump’s assassins hadn’t missed.”
Hatred of Trump is still strong among left-wing voters in the United States, but Donald Trump has at the same time made a kind of peace with the American establishment and the American media is now considerably more positive in its reporting on him than in previous years. Trump is running for election this year on a platform that, with a few exceptions, is basically indistinguishable from the line of the Republican Party establishment.
