Two men have been charged with the theft of Banksy’s ‘Girl With Balloon’ painting. The artwork was recovered by the police.
Two men, Larry Fraser, 47, from Beckton, and James Love, 53, from North Stifford, Essex, UK, have been charged with theft after street artist Banksy’s ‘Girl With Balloon’ painting , was stolen from a gallery in London, writes Sky News.
According to London’s Metropolitan Police, the pair were charged with theft and appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates Court on the same day and were released on bail. The two will appear in court on October 9.

The theft took place on Sunday, September 8, at around 11pm, at a gallery in New Cavendish Street. After investigation, the painting was recovered and will be returned to the gallery. “Girl With Balloon” is one of the most famous works of the street artist Banksy.
Banksy has recently claimed nine works of art that have appeared in various places in London, at an unusually rapid pace for his style, known for long breaks between creations.
