One UI 7 based on Android 15. Major change for Samsung Galaxy phones

It looks like owners of the Galaxy S23 Ultra, S24 Ultra and Galaxy S22 series devices will soon be able to enjoy the One UI 7 update based on Android 15. According to Neowin, it was recently spotted on Geekbench by a platform insider of Elon Musk. Her name? S928BXXU2BXE2. Previously it had the designation S928BXXU1AXCB. Replacing the letter A with B only happens when there is a major release for One UI.

The Samsung Developer Conference 2024 event, scheduled for October 2024, could be the much-awaited moment for the launch of One UI 7. The One UI 6 version made its debut last October, so it would make sense for One UI 7 to be unveiled at the same period.

One UI 7: Surprising design

According to information provided by X user tarunvats33, One UI 7 will bring surprises on all fronts. If until now users of Samsung Galaxy devices had to resort to Good Lock to change app icons, the new update will give them the opportunity to customize them using the new built-in native options.

But the most important change has to do with Samsung’s completely new icon design. There is speculation that they are completely redesigned, but it remains to be seen how things will turn out in reality.

Android 15 will be released by the Americans from Google in August and One UI 7 will be completely based on this version. That’s also when we’ll get access to their Pixel 9 series phones. With One UI 7, Samsung is expected to introduce more AI features. The update is also rumored to come with a vertically scrollable app drawer.

Samsung is already testing One UI 7 hard on several Galaxy phones. We expect more details, official this time, after the Samsung Developer Conference 2024 event.
