New features
The One UI 7 update for Samsung Galaxy is expected in the coming weeks. A previously unknown leaker wants to provide a first insight into the software update.
In recent weeks and months, much of Samsung’s software has revolved around the One UI 6.1 update, which brought numerous AI features such as the “Circle to Search” function to the current Galaxy flagships. But the update to One UI 7 is already on the horizon, which will probably be released as part of the new Android 15 version – so probably at the “Made by Google” event on August 13th.
The X/Twitter user Chun Bai claims to have received an insight into individual features of the One UI 7 update for Samsung Galaxy from an unclear internal source. According to this, the new user interface is said to be heavily based on iOS 18, which competitor Apple has announced for fall 2024.
The notification bar, for example, is to be broken down into two parts: a notification center and a control center. Depending on the swipe, one of the two elements is called up here; similar to Apple or Xiaomi, the notification center displays the most recent messages, while the control center is intended to serve as quick access to settings.
Apart from that, Chun Bai promises “rounder icon symbols” and the lock screen widgets will also follow this design scheme. In addition, the camera interface will be adapted on all Galaxy devices with One UI 7, and the quick settings will probably be found on the top bar instead of the bottom bar in the future.
