We are just a few days away from discovering many new features from Samsung in many areas. The Korean giant will reveal the Galaxy S25 and with it will also bring One UI 7, based on Android 15. This version will reach more devices and with advantages. The latest breakthrough comes to the Samsung Galaxy S24, which will become faster in this essential function.
Samsung is halfway through the public beta testing phase for Android 15-based One UI 7. The latest iteration of this skin will make its official stable debut with the upcoming Galaxy S25 series, set to launch on January 22.
After that, the update should roll out to older Samsung devices, starting with the Galaxy S24 family. Preparing for this arrival, now news is emerging. A new post on X from well-known Chinese leaker Ice Universe brings good news about the speed of fingerprint unlocking on Samsung's Galaxy S24.
This will be faster and the sound will appear clearer too, as demonstrated in the published video that shows the unlocking on a Galaxy S24 Ultra. The Galaxy S24 already has the best hardware for fingerprint unlock speed. To do this, they use ultrasonic sensors that are faster than optical sensors (and also work with wet hands).
Not only the sound is clearer, but also the fingerprint unlocking speed is extremely fast, which is faster than the previous version. pic.twitter.com/7tCIKgGrOW

This has been a differentiating feature for Samsung's flagship lineup. Although competitors are now catching up, hiccups in the One UI software sometimes make the unlocking experience unnecessarily slow.
This will apparently change with One UI 7. Animations appear to have been improved and made faster. Previously it was necessary to disable unlock animations to feel any speed, although there is still room for improvement in this area. Either way, Ice Universe claims the experience will be faster than in One UI 6, and that's commendable.
This new feature will supposedly reach the next One UI 7 beta, which could be released in the next few days. Samsung is preparing to have this update accessible and ready for testing, to prepare for the arrival of the final version of its update to Android 15.
