The Korean women’s archery team, consisting of Im Si-hyeon (Korea National Sport University), Nam Su-hyeon (Suncheon City Hall), and Jeon Hun-young (Incheon City Hall), defeated the Netherlands 5-4 (57-53 52-53 57-58 59-51 26-23) in a close shoot-off in the semifinals of the 2024 Paris Olympics team event held at the special shooting range of Les Invalides, a historic landmark in Paris, France on the 28th (local time). The match is played with three players shooting two arrows per set, for a total of six arrows. A win earns 2 points, a draw earns 1 point, and a loss earns 0 points. The team event earns 5 points, and the individual event earns 6 points first.
Korea received the top seed in the preliminary round and did not play the first round, and in the quarterfinals, they defeated Taiwan 6-2 (52-51 52-56 54-53 56-54). In the semifinals, they narrowly defeated the Netherlands, which had defeated India, 5-4. Korea will face the winner of the other semifinal match between China and Mexico for the gold medal. Korea has won the Olympic team gold medal nine consecutive times without missing a single one from the 1988 Seoul Games to the 2020 Tokyo Games.
