OnePlus has unveiled the design of the OnePlus 13 in an official video. It is now also known on which date the device will be presented.
OnePlus 13: design and release date announced
OnePlus will present its new high-end smartphone, the OnePlus 13, on October 31. The launch will take place in China at 4:00 PM local time. The manufacturer itself announced this on the social platform Weibo. It is then 10:00 in the morning in the Netherlands.
The announcement is accompanied by a video showing off the design of the OnePlus 13. The device says goodbye to the clearly curved screen edges that OnePlus used in recent years for its most expensive devices. Instead, the smartphone will have a ‘microcurve’ on all sides. We know this from the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. In practice, such a screen feels almost the same as a completely flat display.
The sides also become flat. That is a trend, because recent top phones from Samsung and Xiaomi, among others, look the same. The camera island is round again, but now protrudes from the housing. On the OnePlus 12 it was still attached to the edge.
The OnePlus 13 appears in three colors, all of which are made of slightly different materials. The back of the white variant has a smooth glass casing, while the blue one uses a leather structure. The green-black version is made of glass again, but it feels like wood.

According to rumors, the OnePlus 13 will have a large 6.82-inch OLED screen and runs on a lightning-fast Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. This processor was previously known as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. There are three 50 megapixel cameras on the back. We expect a gigantic 6000 mAh battery, which charges quickly with 100 watts (or wirelessly with 50 watts).
The smartphone would also receive an IP69 certification, making it much more resistant to water than its predecessor. It was stuck at IP65 and would probably not survive a dip in the pool.
Although the OnePlus 13 will be presented in China on October 31, it will probably only come to the Netherlands early next year. We do not yet know what the device will cost. The OnePlus 12 had a suggested retail price of 949 euros. You can now buy it for €786.
