OnePlus 13R has already been launched ‘undercover’ in China

The OnePlus Ace 5 is out in China and that is more important for the Dutch smartphone market than you might think.

OnePlus 13R (Ace 5) officially presented in China

OnePlus has launched the Ace 5 exclusively in China. Doesn’t sound interesting, but it is. It is the same smartphone as the OnePlus 13R that we expect in the Netherlands next January. OnePlus launched the OnePlus Ace 3 in China last year, which turned out to be almost the same as the OnePlus 12R in the Netherlands.

By also looking at the Ace 5 in this way, we can find out which specifications the OnePlus 13R is likely to have. Starting with the biggest upgrade: the battery goes from 5500 mAh to 6415 mAh. The battery can therefore potentially last for hours longer. Charging has been delayed: from 100 to 80 watts.

The battery supplies the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip with power. That is the same chip that was in last year’s top model. It is still lightning fast, but not as fast as the chip in the more expensive OnePlus 13. It runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite. When purchasing the 13R, you choose 12 or 16GB of RAM and there is up to 1TB of storage space.

The screen of the OnePlus 13R has a size of 6.8 inches. It is an AMOLED panel with 120Hz for smooth images. On the back you will find three cameras: a 50 megapixel main camera, 12 megapixel wide-angle lens and a 2 megapixel macro lens. The housing is also more resistant to water, thanks to the IP65 rating. The phone also runs on Android 15.

OnePlus 13R will come to the Netherlands on January 7

Please note that the international model of the OnePlus 13R may still have different specifications. The Ace 5 costs the equivalent of 302 euros in China. That would be a very good deal, although the 13R probably costs hundreds of euros more in Dutch. Its predecessor cost new 699 euro.

In the Netherlands, the OnePlus 13R will be released together with the regular OnePlus 13. That smartphone also appeared earlier in China, at the end of October to be precise. It is more expensive, has higher quality construction materials and runs on a smoother chip. We see both devices January 7 appear and keep you informed of the launch.
