After a flurry of information/rumors since the beginning of this month, OnePlus has finally been forced to officially confirm its plans to launch the OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro in December. Both phones will debut in China, with the Ace 5 using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, while the Ace 5 Pro will get the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite.
OnePlus CEO Louis Lee shared some results of the Ace 5 from its gaming performance playing the popular gaming title King of Glory. The test included 1-hour runs of the popular gaming title where the Ace 5 managed over 120 FPS while consuming 3.57W of power and maintaining its thermal performance at 40.3°C.
Furthermore, OnePlus also included a competing smartphone with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, which managed the same number of FPS and similar power consumption of 3.27W and thermal performance of 40°C.
In addition to new information, the trusted tipster Digital Chat Station shared an official teaser image of the Ace 5. The device is said to feature a flat metal frame and an optional ceramic glass back.
We can also spot a trio of cameras on the back and OnePlus’ notification slider placed back on the left side.
