In addition to a new tablet, phone and headphones, OnePlus today also released the OnePlus Watch 2R smartwatch. As the sibling of the OnePlus Watch 2, the OnePlus Watch 2R offers the same performance, but with a lighter watch body.
The OnePlus Watch 2R has largely the same flagship features as the manufacturer’s previous OnePlus Watch 2 smartwatch, for example a long battery life and the Wear OS by Google operating system (Wear OS 4).
Behind the long battery life is the dual processor architecture developed by OnePlus, which includes both Snapdragon W5 and BES 2700 MCU chipsets. The BES2700 operating on an RTOS platform manages background functions and simpler tasks, while the Snapdragon W5 chipset works when it comes to power-demanding tasks, such as using smartwatch applications.
The battery is fully charged with 7.5 watt Vooc fast charging in about an hour. The OnePlus Watch 2R includes two gigabytes of RAM and 32 gigabytes of ROM storage.

Thanks to the dual architecture and the 500 mAh battery, the OnePlus Watch 2R can offer up to a hundred hours of usage time with all functions of the smartwatch or up to 48 hours of heavy use.
The watch equipped with the latest version of Wear OS has, for example, the Google assistant, maps, wallet and calendar application, and more applications for the watch can be found in the Google Play app store. Google Pay also enables mobile payments on the watch.
The OHealth application has been updated. With that, different health information is available. The watch supports tracking over a hundred sports. Running mode tracks metrics such as ground contact time (GCT), GCT balance, and maximal oxygen uptake. The OnePlus Watch 2R also includes dual-band GPS, which improves the accuracy of location tracking.
The OHealth app also provides detailed information on deep sleep, light sleep, REM sleep, awake times and even sleep breathing frequency. In addition, Watch 2R measures stress level by analyzing heart rate variability (HRV).
The OnePlus Watch 2R is available in two colors, Forest Green and Gunmetal Grey. The Watch 2R is made of aluminum, making it almost 25 percent lighter than the OnePlus Watch 2, while meeting both 5ATM and IP68 standards.
The OnePlus Watch 2R will go on sale immediately, starting at a recommended price of 279 euros.
