OnePlus Nord 4 official: all-metal design and remarkable equipment

OnePlus Nord 4 will be a very pleasant surprise for many fans of the brand, not only because of the capable equipment, but also because of the change in design. The manufacturer claims that this new product is the very first 5G smartphone with a complete “unibody” construction. Glass or polycarbonate devices have been a trend for many years. We haven’t seen the popular metal phone in a very long time. He used to make those a few years ago OnePlus and featured an iconic design (e.g. OnePlus 3T). What other features OnePlus Nord 4 offer? The newly introduced smartphone comes in three color variants – “Mercurial Silver”, “Obsidian Midnight” a “Oasis Green”. In the pictures, the phone looks like it has a back made of frosted glass. But the truth is that it is metal. The device is only 7,99 mm and the frames around the display do not exceed 1,46 mm. The design is clearly one of the leading features of this smartphone.

The construction is resistant to dust and water according to certification IP65. The manufacturer also states that the phone will be maximally fast and smooth even after six years of use. It states that software support will last for a period of time 6 years, with 4 major Android OS updates and another two years for security patch updates. There is also a guaranteed period of 4 years for minimal degradation of the battery in relation to its original capacity.

Powerful hardware is available

Now let’s move on to the hardware itself. The heart of the novelty is the chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 in combination with 12 GB or 16 GB operating memory. Internal storage reaches capacity 256 GB or 512 GB. There should also be 8GB / 128GB version that will come with the type store UFS 3.1. Other versions are faster UFS 4.0.

All content will be displayed on 6.74-inch Fluid AMOLED resolution displays 1240 x 2772 pixels. The highest refresh rate is 120 Hz and it is said to be the brightest panel on OnePlus Nord devices so far. It reaches maximum brightness 2150 rivets. The display does not lack a function Aqua Touch to enable the use of a wet screen. This is useful, for example, in the case of lighter rain.

The operating system is pre-installed Android 14 with user superstructure OxygenOS 14.1. On the back you will find two sensors – primary with resolution 50 MP a OISand secondary 8 MP ultra-wide angle with 112-degree angle of view. It is located in front 16 MP sensor in an inconspicuous “hole-punch” cutout. We must also highlight the quite nice appearance of the front side with minimal frames, which at first glance are almost symmetrical. The device can also boast of presence NFC a infraportom.

Durability could also be one of the advantages OnePlus Nord 4. The battery capacity reaches up to 5 500 mAh, which is quite a respectable value considering the small thickness of the smartphone. Supported is fast, 100 W charging. Since the phone is metal, you have to forget about wireless charging. An optical fingerprint scanner hidden under the display is used for unlocking.

The software also includes AI gadgets used to remove people and other objects from the photo (AI Eraser)creating summaries using “AI Summary” and there is no lack of function “AI Writer”. We do not yet know much about the official sales in Slovakia and the price for our market, but we assume that the news will reach us. Memory version 12 / 256 GB it costs 519 € a 16 / 512 GB edition again 569 €. It is possible that the same prices will be set for the Slovak market as well.
