OnePlus released its new tablet computer as well as mid-priced earbuds and a smartwatch

OnePlussa’s last year’s Pad tablet computer will be succeeded by the Pad 2, and Nord Buds 3 Pro and Watch 2R are available in the middle price category of earbuds and smart watches.

In addition to its Nord 4 smartphone, the Chinese company OnePlus has released the new Pad 2 tablet computer, Nord Buds 3 Pro earphones and Watch 2R smart watch to the mid-range smart device market.

The successor to the Pad tablet computer, which was tested by io-tech last year, is the unequivocally named Pad 2, which runs the OxygenOS 14 operating system. Pad 2 also supports OnePlus’s new, separately sold Stylo 2 stylus and Smart Keyboard. Other features that make the user’s life easier include the App Relay function for using the same application on two different devices at the same time, the Open Canvas known from the foldable OnePlus Open phone, which can be used to share the screen to three different applications, and NFC data transfer that works with OnePlus phones. In addition, as a later update for the Pad 2, OnePlus promises its own AI Toolbox that offers artificial intelligence features.

The Pad 2 has a 12.1-inch LCD screen with a 3K resolution of 3000 × 2120 pixels, a maximum refresh rate of 144 hertz and a peak brightness of 900 nits. The pixel density of the screen is 303 ppi (pixels per inch) and the aspect ratio is 7:5. On the iron side, the tablet computer is powered by the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 system chip, and there are two variants to choose from in terms of RAM memory and storage space – 8 and 128 gigabytes and 12 and 256 GB.

The Pad 2 also has a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. In terms of connectivity, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 are supported. According to OnePlussa, the 9510 mAh battery, which supports 67-watt SuperVOOC charging, offers a standby time of up to 43 days. The 6.5-millimeter-thick Pad 2 comes only in gray and weighs 584 grams.

The Nord Buds 3 Pro in-ear headphones offer a high level of active noise cancellation that works in the frequency range of up to 4000 Hz, suppressing both low and high background sounds. In addition, the noise reduction has a feature that recognizes different sounds in the environment, which allows the headphones to switch on the noise reduction mode suitable for the situation. The 12.4 mm speaker elements have a titanium coating that improves bass quality, and the headphones also feature BassWave 2.0 technology that fine-tunes bass frequencies.

Battery life for the Nord Buds 3 Pro is promised without noise reduction for 12 hours on a single charge and up to 44 hours with the charging case. Similarly, when using noise reduction, the battery life is multiplied by a total of 20 hours with the charging case. In terms of protection, the headphones are IP55 level, which means they are protected against dust and water jets, but they are not completely sealed. Nord Buds 3 Pro comes in soft jade and starry black.

OnePlussa’s new smartwatch is the Watch 2R, whose more expensive big brother the Watch 2 was tested by io-tech in the spring. Watch 2R includes Google’s WearOS 4 operating system familiar from Watch 2 and a dual processor architecture that enables a battery life of up to 100 hours, formed by Snapdragon’s W5 system chip and BES 2700 MCU microcontroller. W5 runs the smartwatch’s applications, while the microcontroller takes care of the watch’s background functions. Splitting reduces power consumption and thus extends battery life. The battery capacity and charging power are the same as in the Watch 2, i.e. 500 mAh and 7.5 W. There is also 2 and 32 GB of RAM memory and storage space.

Health features Watch 2R offers familiar coverage, e.g. In the form of the OHealth application, which enables, for example, the monitoring of sleep quality and stress levels and supports the monitoring of more than 100 sports.

The aluminum-framed Watch 2R is a quarter lighter than the Watch 2, which remains the most significant difference between the new product and its sister model. The color options are Forest Green and dark gray Gunmetal Grey. Against dust and water, the watch has an IP68 protection rating and can withstand a pressure of five atmospheres under water.
