OnePlus announces today that the new OnePlus Nord 4 and OnePlus Pad 2 will be launched with AI features designed to make users’ everyday lives easier.
The OnePlus Nord 4 is the latest addition to OnePlus’ portfolio of Nord products and is the first metal smartphone of the 5G era.
With the OnePlus Nord 4, OnePlus has put in the effort to show what is possible with artificial intelligence, and the same applies to the brand’s new flagship tablet, the OnePlus Pad 2.
OnePlus does this by integrating AI into both products, and thus OnePlus launches both the new OnePlus Nord 4 and the new OnePlus Pad 2 with a complete package of AI software and tools that improve e.g. images and other everyday technology.

AI for creativity
Earlier this year, OnePlus announced the launch of AI tools like AI Eraser and Smart Cutout, which remove unwanted people and objects from photos, and these will also be joined by new tools like AI Best Face and AI Clear Face. Coming later this year, these tools are designed to help improve photos when things don’t quite go to plan. AI Best Face can, for example, edit a group selfie and turn people with closed eyes in the photo into people with open eyes, just as AI Clear Face provides high resolution.
AI for productivity
In addition to images, the OnePlus Nord 4 and OnePlus Pad 2 also have a number of tools designed to help users be even more productive in their work. Tools coming to both devices later this year include AI Speak and AI Summarise, which help share information from a wide range of websites and apps, as well as AI Writer, which writes a long message based on short instructions so users can quickly return to the specific task. Later this year, both devices will also roll out with Recording Summary, which can take an hour-long meeting recording and turn it into a short written summary in seconds.
AI for everyday life
OnePlus isn’t just using AI on the surface. The OnePlus Nord 4 and OnePlus Pad 2 also have AI built directly into the operating system – OnePlus’ well-known OxygenOS. OxygenOS 14, which is delivered on the two products, has machine learning systems built directly into the RAM, storage, CPU and battery.
Additionally, the OnePlus Nord 4 and OnePlus Pad 2 both feature OnePlus’ self-developed Trinity Engine, which helps ensure users get the best day-to-day performance in the product. It studies the phone’s CPU, RAM and ROM and makes sure they are working at their best. It works like having an AI librarian in the phone’s memory that keeps track of everything, as well as an AI personal trainer in the processor that helps achieve high performance without heavy loads.
The OnePlus Nord 4 also launches with the Battery Health Engine, which is designed to keep the battery in top shape. Battery Health Engine uses AI technology to analyze everything from the amount of power entering the phone to when it reaches 100% charge. And thanks to the Battery Health Engine, the OnePlus Nord 4’s battery has been tested to survive more than 1,600 charge cycles and over four years of use at over 80% of its original capacity. This is more than three times as much as in other smartphones.
OnePlus’ launch event on July 16 in Milan
OnePlus is revealing the final details of the OnePlus Nord 4 and OnePlus Pad 2 at the launch event taking place in Milan, Italy tomorrow, July 16. In addition to these products, OnePlus is also unveiling the OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro and the OnePlus Watch 2R. The event will be live streamed on OnePlus’ YouTube channel.
