SK Slovan Bratislava football players will play their first ever match in the main stage of the most prestigious European cup competition. They will play in the Champions League today from 21:00 on the ground of Scottish Celtic Glasgow.
Slovan head coach Vladimír Weiss senior. commented on the margin of today’s duel: “The players deserved the Champions League, but now I told them during the preparation that we did not come on a trip. It is a different model of the Champions League, one match, and everything is possible in football, as we have seen many times. We will try to steal a point from the home team and maybe surprise them. We will give it our all and look forward to it. We will see what we are capable of in the company of the best clubs in the world.”
Celtic play their home games at Celtic Park, a stadium with a capacity of over 60,000. He is pulling a string of three championship titles in a row. The head coach is Brendan Rodgers, who previously led Liverpool, Leicester City and Swansea.
Celtic played in the main stage of the Champions League last year as well, taking four points and finishing fourth in a group with Atlético Madrid, Feyenoord and Lazio. He was directly seeded into the league stage of the Champions League this season, so he has played five Scottish Premiership games and one in the local League Cup so far – winning all six games.
