The newly built ring road around Gornji Milanovac was opened. This ring road represents an important infrastructural step for the city and its surroundings, as it will contribute to better connectivity. The length of the new road is 9.7 kilometers and provides the fastest access to the “Miloš Veliki” highway, which will contribute to faster and more efficient transport of goods and passengers.

The project included the construction of a new road section from Gornji Milanovac to Klatičevo, with a length of 4.78 kilometers, as well as the reconstruction of the existing state road from Klatičevo to Takovo, with a length of 4.70 kilometers.

The total value of the works was 30.5 million euros, and the works were carried out in cooperation with the Chinese company “Power Construction Corporation of China Limited”, after the signing of the contract at the end of 2021, as stated on the website of the Government of Serbia.

Another advantage of the bypass is the relocation of transit freight traffic from the city center, which will significantly reduce congestion, while the direct connection to the highway will facilitate access to important transport routes, which contributes to the development of the local economy and the improvement of the quality of life in this part of Serbia.

The construction of this ring road not only eased traffic, but is also strategically important for the future development of the municipality, as it creates better conditions for economic growth and investment attraction, improving infrastructure and reducing the negative impact of traffic on the environment and the urban area.
