Open energy and ecology fairs at the Belgrade Fair

The 19th International Energy Fair and the 20th Environmental Protection Fair “Ecofair” were opened yesterday at the Belgrade Fair, with the participation of more than 50 exhibitors from Serbia and abroad. These manifestations, which are held under the slogan “The message is in nature”, will last until October 16.

The fair events were opened by Stefan Srbljanović, State Secretary in the Ministry of Mining and Energy, and Ivana Hadži Stošić, State Secretary in the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Beta reported.

Hadži Stošić emphasized the importance of this manifestation because it brings together actors from different sectors, providing an opportunity to exchange experiences and examples of good practice. She pointed to the efforts that the Ministry invests in construction of regional and recycling centerswith a special focus on projects in Pirot and the village of Kalenić in Ubo, while the construction of a center in Užice is planned by the end of the year.

According to her, nine such centers will be built by 2027, which will be key to the improvement of recycling and the development of the circular economy, as well as the remediation of unsanitary landfills throughout Serbia.

At these fairs, visitors will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the latest achievements in the field of energy efficiencywhich is the central theme this year.

Srbljanović pointed out that energy efficiency is one of the main goals of the Ministry of Energy and that numerous measures and programs are being implemented in order to rationally use energy and reduce consumption.

Visitors can get information about the projects of the Ministry of Mining and Energy at its stand where they are presented various programs of energy rehabilitation of households, residential and public buildings.

At the “Ecofair” fair, representatives of various sectors, including equipment manufacturers, distributors, recyclers, as well as local governments, deal with topics sustainable practices, renewable energy sources, recycling and waste managementas well as other environmental initiatives.

The goal is to exchange experiences and find solutions that contribute to environmental protection and energy efficiency.

Fairs are held in Hall 3, working hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and tickets cost 500 dinars for individual visits, or 300 dinars for group visits. Parking within the fair is charged at the price of 200 dinars per hour.
