At the official opening, Mauricio Renco Ermeti, president of the organization Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), emphasized that Ecomondo has grown from a small recycling event in 1997 into a leading trade fair for the green economy. This global platform for innovation and dialogue was also praised by representatives of Italian institutions, including Fabrizio Lobas from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Environmental Protection, Gilberto Pićet Frattino, who pointed out that Ecomondo provides a unique insight into Italy’s efforts towards an ecological transition, with a special focus on decarbonization and sustainable use of resources.

The Serbian Chamber of Commerce organized the visit of Serbian businessmen to this fair again this year. The representatives of the companies MT-KOMEX and MT-KOMEX BH also have the desire to visit one of the leading trade fairs in Italy again.

Green Economy General Assembly: Italy as an example of sustainable development

Among the key events is the General Assembly of the Green Economy, where it was presented Report for 2024 on the state of the green economy. The report points to Italy’s significant progress in reducing CO₂ emissions by more than six percent and its leadership in the circular economy, which confirms its status among countries with high sustainability standards. Highlighted challenges, such as land use and sustainable mobility, will be key topics for discussion and innovation during the fair.

Ecomondo 2024 provides a unique opportunity for all participants to network, exchange ideas and learn more about the latest environmental achievements and practices.
