Investing in energy efficiency is economically and ecologically profitable, and our goal is to help citizens reduce energy consumption and relieve household budgets through education and concrete support measures,” said State Secretary at the Ministry, Stefan Srbljanović.

He pointed out that a public call for subsidies is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

“In the previous two years, the Municipality of Priboj and the Ministry of Mining and Energy allocated a total of 11.3 million dinars for subsidies, while in the coming weeks a new public call will be announced, where citizens will be able to apply for subsidies in the amount of up to 65 percent of the investment value. depending on the package of measures,” he said.

The director of the Better Energy project, Lena Brtaić, said that citizens and local governments are the most important participants in the energy transition process.

“If we provide citizens with accurate and timely information about possible energy efficiency measures, expected savings, necessary investments, funding sources and subsidies available to them, then they can make an informed decision about entering into an investment. If we provide them with support when applying, then they will decide on that step faster and easier,” she said.

The President of the Municipality of Priboj, Lazar Rvović, thanked USAID and the Ministry of Mining and Energy for recognizing another idea and supporting Priboj.

“Citizens of Priboj will have complete and high-quality information in one place regarding the improvement of energy efficiency in order to improve the quality of life, protect the environment and achieve significant savings in energy consumption,” he said.
