Operation of joint forces in Cox’s Bazar, recovery of arms and ammunition

Weapons were recovered in the operation of joint forces in Cox’s Bazar headquarters.

The operation was conducted in Choufaldandi village of Sadar upazila on Sunday morning.

According to a source of the joint forces, the joint forces led by the army received information about the storage of weapons in the residence and hideout of Ziabul, the accused in 48 cases in Chauphaldandi.

Later, a team comprising members of 9 East Bengal Company of 2 Brigade of Army’s 10 Infantry Division, BGB, Police and RAB conducted a raid and recovered the weapons. However, the joint forces could not arrest anyone as the armed men fled after sensing the presence of the joint forces.

Among the recovered weapons, three LGs, one single-barreled gun, seven cartridges, one Da, one hammer, three knives, two chapatis, blank documents and ganja were seized.

According to the sources of local residents and public representatives, the defendants in 48 cases were involved in various crimes including occupation of fisheries, murder, drug trade, robbery and arms dealing in Ziabul area. No one dares to open his mouth to his power in the area.
