OPINION: The Danes underestimated the Bratislava fox. Weiss added them to the unflattering list – Sport – Football – European Cups

Slovan Bratislava coach Vladimír Weiss is as unpredictable as the English weather. Once sunny, then stormy. However, it is constant in one respect. Wherever he visited as a coach, he was – and is – successful.

The Danes described his team management as old school and based their success on extensive data analysis. There is also evidence after the middle that Slovan was one goal better and deservedly progressed.

Midtjylland is a new member on the unflattering list of teams that underestimated the old Bratislava fox.

Ten years ago, the Whites played a playoff for the LM for the last time. They also had an excellent coach and motivator on the bench against BATE. However, František Straka did not have such a high-quality staff or so much courage.

Weiss pulled out a written off Zuberu. If it weren’t for the injury, he would have gone to the rematch of the playoffs. He moved Bajrič up one position. He pointed to Takač. He trusted Sagittarius.

He stopped using Tolič as a substitute for Chakvetadze. The Croatian rewarded him for his freedom in the midfield with perhaps his best performance in the white jersey. You couldn’t have timed it better.

Nothing happens by itself.

Without the form of the Slavists – several of them have it for life – Weiss’s bold decisions would be for naught.

Without quality reinforcements, which in the past the chaotic management did not bring, but now it does, the coach’s moves would be in vain.

Without spectators, it is more difficult to play even in the village. The brick field responded, but again: If you do not lose a single one of the 12 games at the beginning of the season (8 in the preliminary rounds of the Champions League), the spectators will come on their own.

Let this evening stand above all that we have already experienced at Tehelno polí, said Weiss before the match. And more than three years ago, at the beginning of his tenure, about the dream Champions League.

It happened. And Weiss seems to be constant in two things already. Performance and fulfillment of promises. The word makes the man. And the one from the white bench is the greatest coach in the era of Slovakia’s independence.
