H Oppo has just revealed its skin for Google’s latest version of Android, the ColorOS 15, and laid out the roadmap for the devices that will get it.
Based on Android 15, the new version of Oppo’s operating system focuses on artificial intelligence and brings many changes to the design language, as well as significant improvements to various applications.
One of the most interesting new features coming with ColorOS 15 is called “parallel motion,” which allows multiple windows to run simultaneously. ColorOS 15 also introduces so-called “enhanced motion effects,” which promise to deliver a more enjoyable experience in Oppo and third-party apps.
When it comes to gaming, Oppo announced that with ColorOS 15, most of its devices will be able to maintain an average 116.7 frames per second (FPS). This also applies to video calls. The Chinese company also claims that the average app installation speed has improved by 26 percent. Oppo also promises 50 percent faster initial load speed for third-party app albums.
At the core of Oppo’s ColorOS 15 is the Aurora Enginea new rendering architecture that uses a non-traditional parallel response method. According to Oppo, the new solution offers an 18 percent improvement in control response speed and a 40 percent increase in control stability.
Along with the Aurora Engine, Oppo introduced the Tidal Engineanother solution that boosts media decoding performance and file decompression time. The Tidal Engine is expected to improve dynamic cache allocation three times more efficiently than instruction acceleration.
In terms of AI improvements, ColorOS 15 comes with the Super Xiaobu Assistant, which offers advanced interaction features such as one-click screen queries, Q&A screen recognition and photo Q&A.
The AI Office Assistant it also brings some smart features like AI Voice Summary, AI Document Management, AI Notes and AI Help Writing. Artificial intelligence tools, that is, intended to simplify various tasks that are usually time-consuming.
Most importantly, the new AI Image Assistant by Oppo turns photos into state-of-the-art images thanks to its advanced features. Features like AI Ultra HD Pixels, AI Anti-smear, AI De-glare and AI Pedestrian Removal are all built into the OS to make photo editing easy for everyone.
Along with its new OS, Oppo also revealed its ColorOS 15 update roadmap, but only for its products sold in China. The company’s latest smartphones like Oppo Find X7 and Oppo N3 Flip will get the update as early as next month, while older ones like Oppo Reno9 5 won’t get it until March 2025.
