The barefoot red clay road construction areas under consideration by the city include parks such as ▲Busan-dong, ▲Cheongho-dong, ▲Yangsan-dong, ▲Oesami-dong, ▲Won-dong, ▲Osan-dong, and ▲Gwol-dong.
The creation of a barefoot red clay road is a task that the 8th popularly elected Osan City promoted as a plan to improve health in daily life. To this end, Osan Mayor Lee Kwon-jae has been actively collaborating with Gyeonggi Province and Gyeonggi Provincial Council members of the People Power Party.
Meanwhile, the city created barefoot yellow mud paths in three locations this year, including ▲Wondong Neighborhood Park in Wondong, ▲Dolmen Park in Geumam-dong, and ▲Jukmi Neighborhood Park in Segyo-dong. The city estimates that about 500 to 1,000 people use the barefoot red clay road a day.
Along with the construction of a new barefoot red clay road next year, the city plans to supplement safety and convenience facilities on the existing barefoot red clay road.
Mayor Lee said, “As a result of active administration together with public officials, we were able to create spaces where people can walk along the Hwangtot Trail throughout downtown Osan. We will continue to do our best to create spaces where citizens can walk and heal.” He said.
