Bean trader Osman Gani (36) of Hnila area of Cox’s Bazar. Along with drinking, he used to bring yaba to Dhaka from Teknaf. Yaba used to get 30,000 taka per shipment of 2,000 pieces.
After the arrest of Osman Gani, Subrata Sarkar Shubo, Assistant Director of the Dhaka Metro (South) Office of the Narcotics Control Department, gave this information on Tuesday afternoon.
He said that an operation was conducted on Monday (November 18) at 34 BK Das Road area of Sutrapur police station in the capital. Osman Gani was arrested along with 2,000 pieces of yabas in the operation.
Referring to the initial interrogation, this official of DNC also said that the arrested Osman Gani used to work as an associate of drug dealer Mizanur Rahman in addition to the betel business in Hnila. If he brought two thousand pieces of yaba to Dhaka, he would get Tk 30,000 per shipment. Yaba used to deliver to various places including Geneva camp in Mohammadpur, Dhaka. There is a case against him under the Narcotics Act.
