Benfica captain, Nicolas Otamendi, reaffirms that he is a River Plate fan, that he watches all the games and that he even arrived at a Benfica training session “half asleep”.
“The Libertadores games are held late here. The other day I arrived half asleep at training, but it was a recovery day and there was no problem”, replied the defender, laughing.
In an interview with ESPN, Otamendi once again talks about the possibility of ending his career at River Plate, leaving the door open for a return.
“You never know. I still have this year left on my contract with Benfica. Out of respect for the club, I try to always be focused here and, when the contract ends, I will soon see my future. I don’t want to create illusions in people, but they know that I’m a fan and I watch every game. I have a good relationship with the managers and you never know.”
