EH Bildu gathered thousands of people this afternoon in a new edition of the sovereignty demonstration, which this year had as its motto “Nazioa Gara” (We Are a Nation). The general coordinator of the Abertzale coalition has demanded to take a leap on the national level” and “make a path in the new status” for Euskal Herria.
The march, which was led by the Political Bureau of EH Bildu, took place entirely on Autonomía Street, a short route of about 700 meters between the squares of La Casilla and Zabalburu. The protesters, who carried numerous ikurriñas and flags of Navarra without the crown, carried out the route in silence, which was only broken by sporadic shouts of “independence”.
At the end of the march, Otegi made a speech in Basque and Spanish in which he asked to “take a leap on the national level and pave the way for a new status for the country.” “That path begins because everyone recognizes that Euskal Herria is a nation and must be respected, and from there, make a path,” he stated.
