Over 30% increase in Orange pre-paid

Orange informed its customers today that from November 7 it is increasing the fees for prepaid offers – per minute of calls, sent SMS and MMS messages and data transfer (per 1 MB).

Currently, when it comes to pre-paid offers from the “big four” – Orange, Play, Plus and T-Mobile, the price list of services is as follows:

Orange Free prepaid offer Formula Play pre-paid offer Plus Flexible card offer Oferta GO! T-Mobile
One minute of voice call PLN 0.59 PLN 0.79 PLN 0.49 PLN 0.79
SMS PLN 0.39 PLN 0.79 PLN 0.29 PLN 0.79
MMS PLN 0.59 PLN 0.79 PLN 0.49 PLN 0.79
Data transmission ~0.31 zł/MB ~1.23 zł/MB ~1.23 zł/MB 0.79 zł/MB
Extra GB after top-up NOT NO NOT NOT

From November 7, in Orange pre-paid offers, the price list of the above-mentioned services will be equal to those available in Play and T-Mobile, so only in Plus it will remain at a relatively low level.

The new price list will apply to the Free, Always Unlimited, IoT and Extra Numer service tariffs and will be equal in terms of amounts for each service. So, a minute of conversation (voice and video), SMS message, MMS message, data transfer for each 1 MB – will cost 79 cents from November 7.

The change in the prices of domestic calls (voice and video), SMS and MMS also results in a change in the price list of roaming services for pre-paid offers, within Zone 1 (European Union), due to the “roaming at home” principle and billing of calls at the domestic price. connections.

The price for an SMS message sent to foreign networks in EEA and EU countries and in countries outside the EEA and EU will also increase, also to 79 groszy.

Interestingly, this is a unique price list of services in Orange’s offers. For example in Orange abonament (some customers still use old tariffs without unlimited services), it looks like this:

In the nju mobile sub-brand, pre-paid charges are up to PLN 19 per minute for a call, PLN 9 for an SMS message, PLN 19 for an MMS message and PLN 19 for 1 MB.

Therefore, it is difficult to equate such a high cost in the new Orange pre-paid price list with an increase in the cost of providing these services. This is more of an “encouragement” for customers to switch to recurring and unlimited packages. According to the new rates, just 30 minutes of calls a month and a few SMS or MMS messages will make it more profitable to purchase the cheapest, monthly and unlimited package for PLN 31.
