Owners of AirPods Pro sued Apple for mass defects of headphones. They crack on their own

Three Apple customers sued the company and accused it of violating consumer protection laws.

The essence of the complaint is that the AirPods Pro were cracking on their own. This most often occurs when the user moves their head, such as while exercising or walking.

In 2020, the Cupertino team already tried to fix the problem with a software update, but this did not help. In October of the same year, Apple launched a program to replace defective headphones with new ones, but even this did not save the situation – crackling continued to appear in the replaced devices.

The plaintiffs claim that they would have been willing to pay less for the AirPods Pro, or not have purchased them at all, if they had been informed about this defect in advance. The company is also accused of false advertising that claims “superior sound quality” and “incredibly clear sound” because it knows about the crackling sound.

It is unknown what specific demands the plaintiffs are making against Apple. (MacRumors)
