Panasonic Toughbook Devices are certified with Red Hat Enterprise Linux

New certification accelerates edge innovation for mission-critical employees.

The Mobile Solutions Business Division (TOUGHBOOK) of Panasonic Connect Europe today announced a collaboration with Red Hat, the world’s leading provider of open source software solutions for enterprises, to certify TOUGHBOOK devices on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

The certification provides flexibility to customers who require secure Linux-based solutions, making it an ideal solution for government agencies, contractors and system integrators.

Many public sectors require mobile devices that protect sensitive data and adhere to strict security standards. With the introduction of Red Hat Enterprise Linux-certified TOUGHBOOK devices, customers now have more choices when it comes to a secure device environment. This allows authorities to customize their mobile solutions to meet specific security needs while benefiting from the rugged durability and reliability of TOUGHBOOK devices.

“Partnering with Red Hat to certify our TOUGHBOOK devices with Red Hat Enterprise Linux underscores our commitment to providing advanced, secure and adaptable technology solutions to our world’s most important industries. This collaboration demonstrates that our devices meet the highest standards of reliability and performance, giving our customers the flexibility and support they need for mission-critical applications,” says Steven Vindevogel, Head of TOUGHBOOK EU.

By taking on the certification process in-house, Panasonic Connect minimizes the need for busy IT teams to invest additional time and resources in certification and testing. In an industry where speed and efficiency are essential, this approach allows for rapid establishment, deployment and maintenance of edge computing solutions.

“With the addition of TOUGHBOOK to our range of certified hardware, authorities can easily adapt their technology to both operational needs and compliance requirements. By putting customers’ unique requirements first, we support critical employees to drive innovation, increase efficiency and contribute to the success of important tasks,” says Julio Guijarro, EMEA CTO, Red Hat.

TOUGHBOOK 55mk3 and TOUGHBOOK 33mk4 are now Red Hat Enterprise Linux certified and more devices are on the way. For the latest information, please visit the www.toughbook.eu website.
