Pardubice expects floods in some parts of the city. Residents of endangered places were informed about them on the city radio. The possible evacuation concerns parts of Nemošice, Drozdice and Mnětice, where the Chrudimka flows. Due to the weather in the Pardubice region, there are electrical voltage line failures, floods have closed some sections of roads. Firefighters had many trips during the night.
The services of the city of Pardubice have started to build anti-flood measures in Bubeníkové sady and around Automatic mills. Cycle paths along the Chrudimka River on both banks were closed. The local road between the Jewish cemetery and the scout center in Vinica and the area of Červeňák is closed. The core of Pardubice and housing estates are protected by flood dams against century-old water, said Alexandra Tušlová from the mayor’s office.
In the Pardubice region, energy experts have recorded two breakdowns on the high voltage line in Hlineck. About 1,000 households are without power. Firefighters are also to blame for the weather. From 18:00 on Friday until 06:00 today, they went to 176 events. Most often, they pumped out water, cleared trees and branches, and delivered and filled sandbags.
Due to flooding, some road sections are closed, for example the entrance to Horní Újezd in Svitavska, roads in Korouhva, Maksičky and Lačnov in the same district, near Běla, Lozice and Radimi near Luže or parts of roads near Všeradov and Ronov nad Doubravou in the Chrudim district.
