Director of the Center for Psychology of SamSMU, market expert of the National Technology Initiative (NTI) HealthNet (“Helsnet”) Elena Mazankina said that it is important for parents whose child has experienced school bullying to explain to him that what happened is not his fault.
Any form of bullying (systematic and deliberate harm to a person) causes enormous damage to the emotional and mental state of the child, causing feelings of helplessness, loneliness and depression, the specialist explained in an interview with the newspaper “News”.
“If a child experiences bullying, it is important to remind him that it is not his fault. People who offend others may themselves experience difficulties and do not know how to cope with them,” Mazankina explained.
She also advised helping the affected child express their feelings, listen to their concerns and offer help.
Earlier, Alexey Parfenov, a neurologist at the Nebolit medical center network, told what symptoms can be used to identify attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in childhood.
