Paying for motorways has never been easier. Discover the best apps.

Discover the best apps for paying for motorways in Poland, check which banks offer such services and find out how easy it is to avoid queues at the toll booths.

Traveling on some sections of motorways in Poland can be a real challenge during peak season, when traffic is high. Long queues at toll gates are an effective way to delay. Fortunately, there are also alternative solutions that allow for convenient and quick payment of tolls, including mobile applications. In this article, we will take a look at the most popular mobile platforms for paying for motorways available in Poland, and we will also check which banks offer such services.

The best app for paying tolls

There is no shortage of mobile apps on Google Play that allow you to pay for your rides quickly, eliminating the need to stop at the toll booths. The most popular ones include:

  • Autopay – one of the most recognizable applications in Poland, offering automatic collection of tolls. The user registers their vehicle and the application automatically charges tolls based on registration numbers, which allows for smooth passage through the gates.
  • e-Toll – an application introduced by the Ministry of Finance, intended for paying for travel on selected sections of motorways managed by GDDKiA. The application offers various payment methods and is easy to use.
  • SkyCash – a versatile application that allows not only to pay for motorway tolls, but also for public transport tickets, parking and other services. In the context of motorways, SkyCash cooperates with Autopay, which ensures quick and convenient payments.

I think that all of the mentioned applications are developed enough that you can trust them with payments. In this case, we probably don’t have to worry about money being stolen…

Bank applications with a highway payment function

Some Polish banks have introduced functions that allow you to pay for motorways directly from their mobile applications, which is a significant convenience for customers. Then we don’t have to download additional tools – what we use every day to manage our finances is enough.

  • Autopay in the My ING application – ING Bank Śląski enables its clients to pay for motorways thanks to integration with Autopay. Simply add a vehicle and activate the service, and the fees will be collected automatically.
  • Automatic highway travel in the PeoPay application – Bank Pekao SA offers a function for paying for motorway tolls in the PeoPay application. Vehicle registration and activation of the service ensures quick journeys without stopping.
  • Highway ride with IKO – PKO Bank Polski, through the IKO application, enables automatic collection of motorway tolls. Users can register their vehicle and enjoy hassle-free travel.
  • Payment for highways in Alior Mobile – Alior Bank has introduced Autopay to its Alior Mobile application. Adding a vehicle and activating the service allows for automatic charging of fees.
  • The Motorways service, available in the Millennium Bank mobile application – Millennium Bank offers Autopay in its mobile app. Customers can register a vehicle and enjoy automatic payments for rides.
  • Autopay in the Santander mobile app – Santander Bank Polska enables motorway payments via Autopay in its app. Vehicle registration and service activation are all that is needed.
  • Autopay at Bank Pocztowy – Bank Pocztowy also offers Autopay in its mobile app. Adding a vehicle and activating the service provides automatic payments for travel.

The app is simply more convenient

Traditional payment methods, such as cash or cards, require stopping at toll booths, which often leads to queues. In contrast, mobile apps allow for automatic payment, which significantly reduces the time it takes to pass through a toll booth. Drivers can pass through without stopping, making the journey faster and easier.
