The leader of the Socialist Party assumes that he will fail all legislative authorizations that the Government included in the State Budget for 2025, including the request to change vacations, advance notices of strikes and the Public Service mobility regime, but also to review the reduced VAT law to be applied to housing contracts at controlled costs.
Pedro Nuno Santos reaffirms, in an interview with Negócios and Antena 1, that he does not issue “blank checks” to the Government and that matters within the competence of the Assembly of the Republic must be discussed and voted on by deputies.
The announcement of this decision comes before negotiations between Public Service unions and the Ministry of Finance have concluded. The next round, where union structures are expected to present their counterproposals, is scheduled for next Tuesday, November 26th.
