The PS secretary general today accused the Government of not having been serious in the management of different dossiers and of having “made propaganda and deceived the Portuguese” by having early elections in mind and wanting to prepare for them.
“What we have in Portugal is a Government that in these five months has been making propaganda and has deceived the Portuguese people in several areas with only one thing in mind: to have early elections and prepare for them, but not everything goes in politics”, accused Pedro Nuno Santos in the opening speech of the PS National Committee taking place today in Coimbra.
As an opposition party, the PS leader argued that he had an obligation “to denounce the way this Government governs”.
“In addition to the political and ideological distance, it is the way in which the PSD Government has dealt with the Portuguese people, with the previous Government, with parliament, but above all with the Portuguese people: lack of transparency and the sale of permanent illusions, trying to create and construct a reality that does not correspond to the reality that we all live in”, he condemned.
Pedro Nuno Santos also accused the Government of “not being serious” on issues such as fuel prices, oncology waiting lists or the number of students without teachers.
