Rejection of part of the planned wind power plants or mining, or on the other hand, approval of the construction of the bypass and the purchase of the castle, was brought today by municipal referenda, which took place in 15 municipalities from Friday together with regional and senate elections. The municipalities announced the results on their official boards. According to the law, at least 35 percent of registered voters must participate in a referendum to be valid. It is binding when one answer is marked by the majority of voters and at the same time by at least 25 percent of all voters.
In two municipalities in Liberec, people voted in referendums on the possible construction of wind farms. The residents of Křižan rejected the construction by a narrow majority. The result is binding. The turnout was 49.9 percent, 26.5 percent of all eligible voters were against. On the other hand, the residents of the border town of Bulovka in the Frýdlantský promontory supported the construction of wind farms by a narrow majority. However, 37.4 percent of the 722 eligible voters voted in the referendum, and only 18.7 percent of them were in favor of the building. The result is valid, but not binding for the council.
Three referendums were held in Vysočina. In Radňovice in Žďársk, the people decided that the preparation of the bypass of the village on the I/19 road can continue according to the proposal of the Directorate of Roads and Highways. 73.98 percent of voters out of a total of 269 voted, and more than half of them were in favor of the proposed route of the bypass. In Dalečín in Žďársk, people rejected the construction of two wind farms. There were 153 voters against the building, 102 in favor and three votes were invalid. 47.9 percent of voters took part in the referendum. The inhabitants of the village of Jamné in Jihlavsko also rejected the construction of a wind power plant that would belong to the village. The intention was supported by 92 voters, 150 residents voted against. There are 414 voters in Jamné. The results are therefore valid and binding.
The residents of Mirovice na Píseck also validly and bindingly rejected the construction of a photovoltaic power plant near part of the village of Touškov. 39.52 percent of voters took part in the referendum. 429 people voted against the construction, only 43 were in favor, one abstained and four votes were invalid.
The inhabitants of the village of Potůčky in the Karlovy Vary region also unequivocally rejected the creation of a feldspar quarry on the territory of the village. 58.23 percent of voters turned out for the referendum, only two votes were for mining. A referendum was also held in the region on the construction of wind farms in the cadastre of the town of Kynšperk nad Ohří in Sokolovsk. However, it is invalid because the required proportion of voters did not arrive. At least 35 percent of eligible voters were needed to be valid, and 34.35 percent of them came.
On the other hand, the company PV Consulting in Rohozná in the Svitavy Region received the necessary support from the residents for the construction of the wind power plant. Out of 493 voters, 199 cast valid votes, 154 voted for the plan. It would not be visible from most of Rohozná.
In the village of Žitenice in Litoměřice, the people decided that the village should take all steps to acquire the local castle. 51.49 percent of voters took part in the referendum, and 68.49 percent of those who participated were in favor of the purchase. The owner of the castle is the Royal Collegiate Chapter of St. Peter and Paul, which offered it for sale for 24 million crowns.
People also supported the restoration of the roof of the tower of the chapel of the Annunciation to the Virgin Mary in Cerekvica nad Bystřicí in Jičín to a baroque form in the style of a mine with a lantern. 27 percent of eligible voters voted for renewal, and the total voter turnout was 42 percent. Two other referendums were held in the Hradec Králové region. Residents of the villages of Rasošky and Nový Ples in Náchodsk rejected the construction of a photovoltaic power plant on fields in their cadastre in referendums. Of the 284 eligible voters in Nové Pleso, over 62 percent turned out. There were 130 voters against the building. In Rasošky, 55 percent of voters arrived, and the vast majority of them were also against the construction. The village of Vlkov, in whose cadastre the power plant should also be located, intends to hold a referendum in the spring of next year.
Two municipal referenda were held in the Zlín Region. The residents of Horní Lidče in the Vsetín region did not approve the construction of a home for the elderly. Out of the total number of 1081 voters, 638 voted, i.e. over 59 percent. There were 275 votes for the construction of the home, 348 against. The residents of Lačnov in the Vsetín region, on the other hand, supported the municipality’s plan to build a community center. In order for the village council to consider the possibility of construction, there were 34 percent of the total number of eligible voters and the participation was 44.96 percent.
