PERFECTION OF TASTE, MELT IN YOUR MOUTH: Vanilla with poppy seeds

The recipe is so simple to prepare, that it cannot fail.

Ingredients:

  • For the dough:
  • 250 g of butter (or margarine)
  • 120 g of powdered sugar
  • 1 vanilla sugar
  • grated lemon zest
  • 200 g of ground poppy seeds
  • 300 g of soft flour
  • To fill:
  • jam of your choice
  • For decoration (optional):
  • about 70 g of melted white chocolate (dark or milk)

Preparation:

Beat softened margarine with powdered sugar, vanilla and grated lemon zest into a foamy mixture.
Sift the flour and mix it with ground poppy seeds and add it to the whipped buttermilk and mix everything well with your hands.
Tear off small balls, you can measure them (each would be 10 g) and form them into a small circle (you can do this with your hand or a cup). It is important that they are the same thickness and width. You should get about 72 balls from the whole mixture.
You need two trays, put baking paper and arrange small circles, leaving a little space between them.
Heat the oven to 170 C and bake the vanilla beans for about 15 minutes, but make sure they don’t brown too much. Leave on the tray for about 10 minutes to cool. Transfer them to a wire rack and let them cool completely.
Combine two with the jam of your choice and leave them overnight to stick. You can serve them like this already tomorrow, just sprinkle them with powdered sugar, or it can also be like this:
Melt the chocolate with 2 to 3 spoons of oil and dip one side of the vanilla. Leave on baking paper to set the chocolate and serve.
